We'll Miss Your Delectable Bread Grandma Sycamore

A tragedy took place tonight. Grandma Sycamore's bread is no more.

Ever since the beginning of our marriage, Dave and I have been obsessed with Grandma Sycamore's bread which is found only in Utah. We were able to selfishly purchase this golden treasure at any time when we lived there while we were going to BYU.

When we moved to Indiana, we didn't have this delicacy for two years (except at Christmas time, when we ate every piece that Dave's mom had in her house!)

Exactly 5 weeks ago, my sister came into town from Provo, Utah for a wedding. She brought us 4 loaves of Grandma Sycamore's bread in her suitcase that she took on the plane with her. I promised to pay her an exorbitant amount for doing so. As of tonight, when Dave and I had ham and cheese paninis for dinner, the precious bread is gone.

So, Grandma Sycamore...we will miss you and your bountiful bakery skills.

Your story is our story.
Or to quote Nacho:
"You gotta be kidding me. Everything you just said, is MY favourite thing to do, every day!"

Seriously - we crave Grandma Bread. My parents also bring loaves of bread in their suitcases. They are like drug mules.

Get this - for a while, when we were living in Denver, Costco sold Grandma Bread! And then they cruelly took it away.

We feel your pain.

Um, I ache for your loss.

The truth is, I've never tried Grandma Sycamore bread, so I ache for my loss too.

I think I better just go back to bed and be depressed for a while...

I'm also suffering from Granny Sycamore withdrawls! I had a trip to UT for a week and now that I'm back in Michigan...things just aren't the same! I'm having my mom bring some Granny bread and Stephen's Hot Coco mix with her when she comes to see my baby!

That's how I feel about Great Harvest! bread is a staple in our house, and we seem to be pretty picky about the kind we buy. Now we eat G. Sycamore's, but I sure miss Great Harvest.

I'm going through withdrawal. I was in Rexburg for a week helping my son and his wife after the birth of their baby. I discovered the Grandma Sycamore's Sprouted Wheat Bread.
I wants it, precious!!
Somewhere in Reno, Nevada, there has to be a loaf I can buy!!

Are you saying there's more to grandma sycamore's bread than plain white and wheat?! I buy them at the grocery outlet for fifty cents a loaf and fill the deep freezer, but I've never seen specialty breads from her line! what else do they make?? Please share info! Thanks!
