The Day has Arrived

Yes ladies and gentleman, the definitive day of adulthood has arrived. As I was unloading the contents of my cart at the grocery store yesterday evening, it happened. While I was unloading my whole wheat tortillas, assorted fruit flavored tums, and flax seed granola bars, the teenage-boy cashier said to me, "Having a nice evening ma'am?"

I didn't respond. I honestly didn't think he was talking to me. Then it dawned on me...he thinks I am a ma'am. When did I become a ma'am? Just a few years ago, I was dating boys his age. I am not a ma'am...

I chuckled a little to myself and said, "Oh were you talking to me?" And he said, "ya, that's ok I said it kind of quiet."

Great now he thinks I am hard of hearing.

Prune Juice: Found in my grocery cart today (no joke). If you're a ma'am, that makes me a senior citizen.
